Dr. Balázs Kékesi

Lecturer at Dharma Gate Buddhist College
(philosophy of cognitive science, 4E cognition, cognitive linguistics, philosophy of mind, Buddhist philosophy)
As a presumed continuation of family tradition, I became a clothing industry technician. After technical school, I attended the Light Industry Technical College, where in just half a year I reached several defining insights: the clothing industry had practically disappeared, I was unsuited to be an engineer, this is not who I am, this is not my self. My identity crisis led me toward the ideas of Béla Hamvas, and after a traditionalist flip, it brought me to Dharma Gate. From this intellectual environment, I gained many friends, teachings that still influence me today, guidance, and a music band called Bëlga. After finishing college, I entered the advertising industry, where I had the chance to experience one of the deepest pits of samsara and understand what capitalism is. Meanwhile, I continued studying, for example, communication, cultural organization, philosophy, and began to study cognitive linguistics, until my increasingly intense study obsession led me to dive into the depths and heights of research, with the help of the University of Pécs.
