The Rector of the College, Gábor Karsai, in his capacity as Director of Mind & Life Europe, was the principal organizer and leader of the 39th Mind & Life Dialogue, held in Dharamsala, the current residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, from October 13 to 17. The event was jointly organized by the Mind & Life Institute and Mind & Life Europe, and this year’s dialogue bore the title “Minds, Artificial Intelligence and Ethics.”
The dialogue brought together internationally renowned artificial intelligence researchers and Tibetan Buddhist scholars for an exchange of ideas, featuring contributions from Jack Kornfield, Richard Davidson, and Laurie Anderson, among others. At the conclusion of the event, around 100 international guests visited the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (see photos), and a video of this visit is also available. On behalf of the international contemplative science community, Gábor Karsai conveyed greetings to His Holiness on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
