The research activities at the College are summarized below. We consider it important to note that topics and subtopics may not necessarily be related to only one research activity, and the research activity of individual lecturers may affect several subtopics. Therefore, the results of publication and curriculum development cannot necessarily be tied to just one subtopic.

Processing of Ind language sources (Vedic, Sanskrit and Pali).

  1. Philological research, critical edition, translation and analysis (with the involvement of students) of Vedic and Sanskrit sources relevant to Buddhism.
  2. Research on the origin of the Pali canon.
  3. Research on the content analysis of the Pali canon and the establishment of teachings related to the historical Buddha.
  4. Terminological research.
  5. Preparation of text translations, translation technology research (students involving).
  6. Parallel philology research, comparative analysis of texts existing in several languages ​​(Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan, Chinese, etc.).
  7. Preparation of educational aids.
  8. Carrying out scientific background work related to the Hungarian edition of Common Buddhist Text (CBT), translation.
