HAC has accredited our institution for another five years

The Hungarian Accreditation Committee has accredited Dharma Gate Buddhist College for another five years

By its Resolution No. 2026/3/VIII, the Hungarian Accreditation Committee has accredited the operation of Dharma Gate Buddhist College for another five years, until 30 June 2031. The accreditation is subject to the submission of a progress report, which the institution is required to send to MAB by 31 December 2028.

The accreditation procedure, conducted in English, marks an important milestone in the life of the College. It has confirmed the strategic directions along which the institution has developed consistently in recent years. According to MAB’s assessment, the College operates a unified, institution-wide quality assurance system that is aligned with the ESG principles, the European Standards and Guidelines.

The reasoning of the resolution highlights:

the planned and systematic nature of quality assurance and development processes,

the close connection between management and quality assurance processes,

the quality of education management and research management,

as well as the alignment between the institutional strategy and the College’s research directions.

The decision confirms that Dharma Gate Buddhist College operates on stable professional foundations, with a transparent and sustainable quality assurance system, and is ready to take its next major steps: to strengthen its presence in the European Higher Education Area and, as set out among its long-term goals, to move forward towards becoming a university.

Among Hungarian higher education institutions providing religious education, Dharma Gate is the only one to have undertaken an international accreditation procedure conducted in English.

This is a shared achievement for all of us, and one we can be proud of.
