School year openings at the Dharma Gate Buddhist College 2025

The academic year has begun at both campuses of Tan Kapuja Buddhist College, in Budapest and Mánfa, which we opened with a ceremonial opening ceremony at both locations.

Opening ceremony in Budapest

On September 6, the first-year students of the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College attended the opening ceremony.

The academic year was opened by Gábor Karsai, rector of the college, Pál Farkas, professor at Tan Kapuja, and Zoltán Cser, director of the church. Gábor Karsai and Zoltán Cser gave short speeches at the opening ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the first-year students were welcomed as students of the college with the lighting of candles and incense.

A total of 185 students were admitted to the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College for the 2025/26 academic year, which is in line with the very high numbers of previous years, and in fact, 20 more students are coming to our institution than last year. We are particularly pleased to boast a record number of 17 students enrolled in our evening MA program.

Start of the academic year in Mánfa

On September 13, a ceremonial opening of the academic year took place in Mánfa, at the southwestern Hungarian campus of the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College.

Zoltán Cser (director of the Tan Kapuja Buddhist Church) and Gábor Karsai (rector of the college) gave speeches at the opening ceremony organized for students of the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College’s correspondence and distance learning programs.

As the highlight of the opening ceremony, which was attended by second- and third-year students, the first-year students were welcomed as students of the College with the lighting of a candle and incense.

The number of students admitted to our various programs:

– Full-time BA (undergraduate): 38

– Evening BA (basic training): 71 students

– Correspondence BA (basic training) in Mánfa: 29 students

– Distance learning BA (basic training): 30 students

– Evening MA (master’s program): 17 students
