Graduation ceremony at Dharma Gate

In keeping with our traditions, we held our graduation ceremony for last year’s graduates again this year.

Gábor Karsai, rector of the college, as well as László Mireisz and Zoltán Cser, president and director of the Dharma Gate Buddhist Church, gave speeches at the ceremony.

They also presented the graduating students with burgundy ceramic bowls bearing the College’s logo, symbolizing the Buddhist monk’s cup (shilka), as well as arrows, which remind us of the straight and direct path. This year, the traditional closing ceremony was not to be missed, where our recent graduates stood in a circle with their arrows turned upside down, forming a living swastika, symbolically representing the Sun, enlightenment, and the symbol of the Buddha’s lineage.

In 2021, 43 students graduated from our institution, while in 2020, thanks to the exceptional exemption from language exams, we were able to award 204 diplomas to students who had graduated over the past decade.
