On September 10, 2025, the Vietnamese Tue Giac Pagoda celebrated its 10th anniversary, to which The Gate of Enlightenment was also invited. The Church was represented by Director Zoltán Cser, the College by Vice-Rector Péter Győri, and teacher Botond Szathmári.
The ceremony was attended by Thich Thien Bao, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha, abbot of the Buu Tho Meditation Center at Nguyen Huong Pagoda, and abbot of Tue Giac Pagoda in Budapest.
The delegation of venerable monks and nuns of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha was led by Thich Thien Chau, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha and head of the Central Supervisory Committee. The seminar was attended by Mr. Bui Le Thai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Hungary, his wife, and embassy staff. Representing the Vietnamese Association in Hungary was Mr. Vu Quy Duong, President of the Federation of Vietnamese Associations in Hungary.
The seminar began with an opening speech by Dr. Pham Van Khue. This was followed by Ambassador Bui Le Thai’s report on the Tue Giac Pagoda’s ties and relations with the embassy and the community: he emphasized the role of the Tue Giac Pagoda among Vietnamese people in Hungary over the past 10 years and promised to create the best possible conditions for the pagoda’s future activities.
At the end of the seminar, Mr. Thich Thien Bao spoke emotionally about the process of establishing the pagoda and the difficulties of realizing Tue Giac today. He expressed his deep gratitude to every Vietnamese person and group in Budapest and the countryside who contributed to the development of the pagoda’s current state with every roof tile and brick. At the same time, he made suggestions for the future direction of Tue Giac Pagoda.
The meeting, which lasted more than two hours, was filled with numerous programs and meaningful opinions, as well as beautiful moments, which gave the entire audience the opportunity to review the past years – the 10 years since the founding and establishment of the Tue Giac Pagoda.
In the days following the ceremony, some members of the Vietnamese delegation arrived for a return visit to A Tan Kapuja, where they discussed possibilities for future cooperation between the Vietnamese community and A Tan Kapuja.
