The Dharma Gate Buddhist College is a higher education religious institution. Its name refers to the school’s primary mission: to open the gate of Buddha’s teachings to those who are interested. This is manifested in the transmission and implementation of the Teachings.

Buddhist teachings can take various forms, but they are primarily present within the individual and can be discovered through the inner path of awakening.

The goal of the College’s teachers is to help students on the path to awakening. They themselves are seekers who strive to convey the Teachings to the best of their ability and knowledge, in light of their own personal experience. The Community considers all seekers, teachers, and students alike to be disciples.

True to the two and a half millennia of Buddhist practice, we implement the living Teaching in the circumstances of the present age (place, time, culture, language, disposition).

We do not consider any one form of the Teachings or any one branch of the Buddhist tradition to be superior to the others, as each of these branches offers a path of realization for seekers with different dispositions. We provide opportunities to learn about them and to create new branches that correspond to our spiritual goals.

The College provides space for teachers of both traditional and newly founded Buddhist religious traditions, as well as representatives of the sciences that aid in understanding, without any distinction in rank.
The College’s curriculum, teaching methods, and assessment system reflect the above considerations.

In addition to classroom instruction, it also offers personalized training based on a master-disciple relationship, which serves to deepen understanding.

The College’s training system combines the transfer of subject knowledge with the development of practical skills for the internal implementation of the Teaching, with an emphasis on independent thinking.

We are open-hearted towards other religions and open to learning about those who approach us with similar intentions.

We are convinced that the efforts of religions to alleviate human suffering are of decisive importance. With this in mind, we do everything in our power to ensure that our work contributes to the edification of both humanity as a whole and individuals.
