MENEDÉK (Refuge) – pre-premiere screening at Dharma Gate

Esemény leírása

Interested viewers can watch the film Menedék (Refuge), directed by Attila Márton Farkas, at a pre-premiere screening to mark the 30th anniversary of Dharma Gate.
On December 18, 2021, immediately following the church’s customary December celebration, the Maitreya celebration, the feature-length film Menedék will be screened once at 8 p.m. on the YouTube channel of A Tan Kapuja.

Director Attila Márton Farkas, alias FAM, had this to say about the film in advance:
“The film Menedék was made on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Dharma Gate Buddhist Church to present its current life and work, in fact, its mission. Unlike our previous works on Buddhism in Hungary, this film does not take a historical or documentary approach, but rather a spiritual one—in other words, we are trying to present the Dharma rather than karma. The film is dominated by imagery, and during its production we had meditative works such as Baraka and similar creations in mind, although interview excerpts also play a significant role here. Refuge consists of seven chapters, or seven études, which revolve around the institutions and activities of the Church, based on the seven factors of enlightenment—the titles of the chapters also refer to this and follow this order.
