Eligibility for a scholarship depends on whether the student is enrolled in a full-time or evening program, and whether they are state-funded or self-financed.

Eligible Students:
Only full-time students with state scholarships are eligible for:
– Academic Scholarship
– Regular Social Scholarship
– Emergency Social Scholarship
– Basic Grant
– Internship Participation Support
– Ministerial Scholarship for Foreign Students

Only full-time students are eligible for:
– National Higher Education Scholarship
– Bursa Hungarica Municipal Higher Education Scholarship
– Institutional Professional, Scientific, and Public Life Scholarship

Students eligible for performance-based or social-based scholarships may receive these benefits – excluding the Institutional Professional, Scientific, and Public Life Scholarship and the Ministerial Scholarship for Foreign Students – for no longer than the 12-semester support period defined by law [Nftv. §47].

Social-based scholarships are awarded based on the student’s financial situation, through an application process supported by appropriate documentation. Eligibility is assessed according to legally defined criteria.

A student may receive a social-based scholarship from only one higher education institution at a time. If enrolled in multiple institutions, they may only receive such support from the institution where they first established a state-funded student status.

Detailed rules and calls for applications for each scholarship are accessible by clicking the respective scholarship’s name.

Student grants – with the exception of the Academic Scholarship and Breakout Scholarship Supplement, which do not require application – must be requested via the Neptun system using the request handling module. Attachments must also be submitted electronically (scanned). The Registrar’s Office and the IT Department of the Rector’s Office provide assistance. If the Neptun system is unavailable for at least 3 hours within 24 hours prior to the application deadline, the deadline is extended by 24 hours, and so is the evaluation deadline. Decisions for electronic applications must also be published electronically. Resolutions sent via Neptun message are considered official notifications.

Regular scholarships are transferred by the College by the 10th day of each month, except in the first month of the semester. (For specific rules on the National Higher Education Scholarship and the Bursa Hungarica Scholarship, see their respective detailed information.)
