Lecturer at Dharma Gate Buddhist College
(Education Sciences)
I hold a doctoral degree in education, but an equally formative part of my professional journey is that I originally trained as a secondary school teacher of German. Why is this important? Language teachers are often regarded as some of the most innovative educators when it comes to teaching methodology. In my case, this methodological curiosity led me toward the possibilities offered by the internet and later by e-learning. To this day, this remains one of my favorite areas of focus: I closely follow how e-learning–based education is evolving and actively contribute to it through the development of e-learning pedagogical models, digital learning materials, and innovative teaching and learning methods.
This is also why I joined the team at Dharma Gate Buddhist College: in this innovative and supportive environment, I aim to use and further develop my thirty years of experience in higher education to support both the student and faculty communities. I hope that at the intersection of pedagogy and Buddhism we will find topics that I, too, as an educator, can embrace and represent with professional commitment and depth.
Another field where you might encounter me is international higher education management. This is a similarly inspiring environment I greatly enjoy—meeting students and lecturers from other cultures, exploring different educational systems, and finding connections between Hungarian and international trends and practices. Whether it’s student and staff mobility or joint international program development, this, too, is a path we walk together at the College.
Perhaps the area closest to Buddhism that I also deeply love—and am fortunate enough to live within—is gardening. A long-held dream of mine came true when I was able to move with my family and our two dogs to a large garden, where I can closely observe nature, the changing seasons, and the living creatures and plants around us. Under the name Pillangókert (“Butterfly Garden”), I maintain an almost one-hectare ecological garden, with all its joys and the rewarding work it brings.
