It ensures that students gain a comprehensive understanding of Buddhist philosophy and practice while developing linguistic, analytical, and scholarly competencies necessary for advanced study and professional application.
Core curriculum (70-80 ECTS) — This core component provides a comprehensive foundation in Buddhist and comparative philosophy, integrating theoretical study with meditative practice. Through courses in Buddhist philosophy, meditation and retreat, and Dharma Conversation, students cultivate both intellectual understanding and experiential insight into Buddhist thought and ethics.
Specialized studies (25–35 ECTS) — This study component deepens students’ understanding of Buddhist canonical texts and develops their ability to interpret and analyze them both conceptually and linguistically. It includes the study of Buddhist technical terminology in Pāli, Sanskrit, and Tibetan, as well as the reading of specialized English and original-language texts to strengthen academic and philological competence.
