Dharma Gate Publishing House has published Tibor Porosz’s latest book, Parallel Psychologies.
The book, published as the third volume in the publisher’s Buddhism and Science series, is by the former rector and teacher of the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College.
Tibor Porosz’s book Buddhist Psychotherapy presented the practical aspects of Buddhist psychology related to healing, while his current work draws attention to the conceptual background of these practices and the more general characteristics of Buddhist psychology.
This volume contains parallel psychologies, because when listing the usual and unusual psychological topics, multiple approaches to the given questions can be read. In the process, readers can learn about the main Western views, as well as the historical Buddha’s views and the views of various Buddhist schools, thus providing an opportunity for comparison.
The views and conceptual models mentioned here are presented, as far as possible, in their own words and lines of thought, so that they can then become conversation partners for the reader. This book can thus be seen as a kaleidoscope, as the views, models, and trains of thought can be seen as colorful pieces of paper, so that when the reader turns the pages, different patterns and connections between the pieces of paper appear with each turn.
The book will be presented in the near future at the Dharma Gate Buddhist College. Those interested will be able to view the presentation in person and online, live, and the date will be announced on various platforms of Dharma Gate.
The volume can be purchased at the Dharma Gate Publishing House webshop at the following link:
