The Ambassador of India paid an official visit to the College

Ambassador Anshuman Gaur, who has served in India’s Ministry of External Affairs since 2001, previously held the position of Chief of Protocol of India. His mission is to promote trade, technology, and tourism, thereby strengthening Hungarian-Indian relations.

The Embassy wrote the following in its Facebook post:
“Buddhism continues to serve as an enduring bridge connecting the shared heritage and values of India and Hungary. The Ambassador considered it a great honour to visit the College, where he could celebrate and reaffirm this deep connection.”

The Embassy delegation was given a tour of the institution by the Rector of the College, Gábor Karsai. Following the tour, the leadership of the College held discussions with Ambassador Anshuman Gaur on opportunities for academic cooperation in the fields of Buddhist studies and cultural relations. The Ambassador explained that in India, Buddhism is regarded not only as a religion and ethical system, but also as an integral part of the country’s cultural heritage, and is therefore considered a matter of special importance by the Indian government.

The meeting also touched upon the possibility of cooperation between Dharma Gate Buddhist College and Nālandā University, the highly prestigious institution of great significance in the world of Buddhism.
