The East-West Research Institute serves to coordinate scientific research at the University.
The general goal of our institute:
The purpose of the Research Institute is scientific research of the Buddhist tradition, research into the current application possibilities of Buddhist religious practice, the continuation of Buddhist interdisciplinary studies, its task is to participate in the quality assurance and development of college education, the monitoring and preparation of applications, and the organization of the College’s international relations [SzMSz 2.5.3.1 ]. It promotes the publication of research results and the documentation of the results in cooperation with the Library (collection of teaching publications, MTMT). It supports the access of excellent students to publication opportunities.

Management of the Institute:
The main academic body of the College – the four-member Scientific Council [SzMSz 2.5.3.2], elected by the Senate for a 4-year term from among the faculty members, researchers and teachers of the College with scientific degrees, with the approval of the administrator, which is on the one hand the scientific research body of the college, the Eastern It is the strategic management body of the Nyugat Research Institute, and on the other hand, it provides the Internal Qualification Committee in the Habilitation Regulations [FKR no. 5 annex], as well as the scientific tasks of the Training Council defined in the Operational Regulations of the Internal Scientific Postgraduate Training [EKR 3] [SzMSz 2.5.3.5]. The preparation, administration and implementation of the decisions of the TT are carried out by the director of studies and the Rector’s Office; and its decision-making is supported by the Secretary General [SzMSz 2.5.3.6].
The head of the Research Institute is chosen from among the members of the TT, who is the operative head of the Research Institute. The head of the Research Institute elected by the TT is confirmed by the Senate on the proposal of the College Council and appointed by the rector for four years [SzMSz 2.5.3.3].
